Tired of store-bought and thin fire pits which burn out? Our copyrighted FastPit™ design is ten times thicker than every model at our Home Depot! We use 3 Gauge, 1/4″ thick structural steel. Feel free to compare that with the competition!! We also beat them on weight and assembly because our copyrighted design (where you get to use our cutouts or pick/design your own!) makes it modular and easy to assemble. This means that although it is large and extremely heavy duty, the individual pieces are not so heavy so you will NOT need a bunch of your friends to carry it out to the back yard, move it, or store it flat against the wall in the shed. Read on for more information.
This is our copyrighted design modular fire pit which means that although it is large and extremely heavy duty, the individual pieces are not so heavy so you WILL NOT need a bunch of your friends to carry it out to the back yard
The finished size is 22″ x 22″ x 16″ Tall. It is shipped in two boxes. If you go with the pictured sunset design, the four sunset panels weigh 9.5 pounds each. The legs weigh 7 pounds each. The 16″ x 16″ base is the heaviest, weighing in at 16.75 pounds. The total weight is almost 70 pounds of structural steel!! The purpose behind our designing it this way is that we do not like how the big box fire pits burn out so quickly and we wanted something that was easy for one person to assemble by themselves. Our modular design takes less than ONE MINUTE to assemble or disassemble! That means you can move it to a new spot or store it flat in the shed.
If want a larger unit, you can go with our eight sided fire pit, where the heaviest part will weigh 46 pounds and the entire unit almost 170 pounds.
You can check out with the listing as it is designed with the sunset, or start up a conversation with us and let us know what you would like. You can send us clip art or a picture of an image you would like on each of the side panels. That way, you can have your own custom image, your monogrammed initial, a Fleur-de-lis, or pretty much anything else. If it is a basic image (shape, moon, stars, etc), there is no extra charge (and we can even provide it if you tell us the shape you like). If you want something complex like your likeness from a photograph or something to match a dragon tattoo, send use a picture and we will get you a price based on the amount of time we think it will take us to convert your artistic desires into carved solid steel panels! For any design other than the sunset, we will send you a proof to approve so that you know what your panels will look like. 🙂
Also, we will be offering individual side panels so that your fire pit can change with your whim or with the seasons. Because our fire pit is modular, there is no need to buy a new pit, just one or more side panels to fit the occasion! We will add side panel options as we make more of these, so feel free to check back and see!
Does Thickness Matter? YES! But it can be confusing because a lot of ads say “heavy duty,” “thick,” or “very durable,” but those are just words. Some ads will tell you it is a particular gauge, but if you are like us, these approaches make make us feel like a goat looking at a watch – – pretty confused! So in this listing we use 1/4″ thick structural steel plate. Let’s put that in a list of thicknesses using common coins:
1/4″ = .250″ = 3 Gauge = Thicker than Two Quarters AND Two Dimes, all four stacked on top of each other!
1/8″ = .125″ = 11 Gauge = Thicker than a Quarter and a Dime Stacked on Top of Each Other (2.4% Thicker). It is 250% thicker than 18 Gauge and 60% thicker than 14 Gauge.
5/64″ = .078″ = 14 Gauge = Barely Thicker than a Nickel (1.6% thicker).
1/20″ = .05″ = 18 Gauge = Almost as Thick as a Dime (it is 6% short)
If you are in Hawaii or Alaska, please send us a message. We are subsidizing the shipping cost already and we are not sure if we have to charge extra to serve our far-away States. If you are interested, however, strike up a conversation with us and we will figure it out!
